Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty

I am imagining what I would write to my cat if I were to have one. The picture here is of my cousin's cat who uses her paw to drink water from the dish. She is too sophisticated and cultured to lap up the water like some, some, dog.

I have a friend who when ever he talks to his cat he goes all... well... baby gibberish... is the best I can do to describe it. This from a man who has a doctorate. His voice goes up three octaves and he uses fake words mixed in with short phrases. His cat usually just looks at him with these, "you've got to be kidding me" calico eyes and runs for the nearest piece of furniture to hide under. I have often thought about running and hiding as well but I don't even think the bed is high enough for me to fit under.

Of course, I am allergic to cats. Well, more specifically to tom cats. The well bred persians, siamese, etc., I am perfectly fine being around. So you realize what this means. I am psycho-snob-matic when it comes to cats.

There is a semi-feral cat that lives just outside my apartment. He usually sits right outside my door or on the steps. When I approach he will glare at me as if to say "how dare you enter into my personal space." My landlady feeds him. She was successful in getting him neutered a few years back. She claims that the cat must like me becaue he never allows anyone else get that close to him before he runs off. Well, like or dislike, he is an ally cat so I am grateful he remains outdoors.

So Kitty, if you are going to share this blog space with me you have to understand. You are a sleek Siamese with brown tipped ears and face and creamy beige fur. You love to wrap your self around my legs when you want attention. And you don't mind sitting on my lap purring while I pet you. And if I ever, ever, begin talking like my friend talks to his cat, I give you full permission to swipe at me with your imaginary paws. ;-)

Blessings abound,
Protected Peace
